Your Website

Welcome! This is where you will find all of the tools and resources that I use on a day to day basis for marketing my clients sites. I will post many of the strategies that I discuss daily.

There are three steps to getting your website off the ground and they are as follows…

Identify your niche -

Find Products – Pick something that is exciting to you, Something that you already have knowledge about. The more experience with this product the better. Keep it very niche specific to your site. For example, If you sold apples on your website, You will find a lot of others on the Internet just selling apples. If you could just make a small change with your Apple store and sell Green Apples that would be more “Niche” then just selling apples. I think you will find that those who have made it successful on the Internet have found their own “Niche”.

Research, research and yes.. even more research. I can’t stress that enough to my clients. Don’t jump with both feet in the water until you are very confident that you have found the product that is just right for you to market. Check prices and most important, shipping costs!

These days it takes a surfer and potential customer 30 seconds to compare prices and details on your product. Unless you are the one manufacturing your product, you can be guaranteed that there are a lot more people selling this same product online. Don’t sell peaches on your apple store, This might sound crazy. But if you have someone come to your site from a Google long tail search (Will explain that later) for “Buy green apples online” Chances are they will not even look at the peaches.

There are a lot of exceptions to this and this is written to only be an example. One could have a fruit store and sell different varieties of fruit. That would more than likely be alright for someone. You will find though that the more specific you are with your product, the more the search engines will like you and the more sales you will make!

Remember, Google is your friend but sometimes you will find yourself having a love hate relationship with it. As you progress your online webmaster skills, You will understand this better.

Wordpress - You can’t be without at least one blog. I personally know some of my associates that run hundreds of blogs. Blogs are very search engine friendly and if you have been a client of mine, You know that I am big on Not Paying For Traffic. SEO is the key to owning and operating a successful business. Many of the times, I have my clients start with Wordpress.
